Entre el Recuerdo y la Memoria: Historias de Patamban was the result of an oral history research project conducted with middle school students of the Indigenous P’urhépecha community of Patamban, Michoacán. The implemented research project’s principal intention was the recognition of local history through oral tradition, which was rescued due to interviews held with the community elders. Walking through the community alongside the children during fieldwork, and seeing their enthusiasm, corroborated the possibility of generating alternative spaces for the teaching of history that is of greater value to everyday lives. The book was published by the Universidad Michoacana Press in 2017, and the second edition, with translations into P’urhépecha and English, was published in 2024..
